This procedure is to check for abnormality of the endometrial cavity such as thickening of the lining, polyps, adhesions, abnormal shape of the cavity or protrusion of fibroids into the cavity.
The tubal patency assessment is to assess whether the fallopian tubes are patent or possibly blocked. On a regular gynaecological scan if the fallopian tubes are normal then they are not usually visible.
